Mirena IUD possible cause of severe cervical dysplasia?
by: th
on Mon, Nov 26 2007
I’ve had the Mirena IUD in for less than one year and I’ve been diagnosed with severe cervical dysplasia and have had a cone treatment. I am still bleeding and additional tests will be performed. I will be requesting my doctor to remove the IUD in a few weeks as I am convinced that it is an adverse event relating to the Mirena IUD. Please all share our stories to see if the Mirena IUD is the cause of our conditions.

I am 36 years old, and about 5 months ago, I received my first abnormal pap. At this point, I was having my annual paps done by my GP rather than an OB/GYN. I wasn’t too worried, as I know that lots of things can cause such a result. The doctor said “come back in 3 months”. I did, and when

I’m 22 and on my second pap test I had a high count of white blood cells. My doctor considered it nothing but was required to encourage me to go for a colposocpy. The gyno there took a biopsy and said that there was definitely abnormal cells.
