I was advised to return in 6 months to repeat the pap “…no big deal, most cases clear up on their own” In Sept 07 when i returned for the pap I was informed that the cells had changed and given a colpo to figure out the severity. A few days later I was scheduled for a LEEP. The pathology report showed that all abnormality was removed but because of the severity of the changes my doctor recommended a Colpo four months later to ensure nothing grew back. Today I went in for my second Colpo and was informed that there are more abnormal cells present. My doctor thinks it is mild but we won’t have the results until next week. Depending on those he will decide what the next step will be. If all is normal he recommends another Pap in one month. I guess I don’t know what to think because I’ve always heard that abnormal cell changes in the cervix are very slow to progress but this has not been my experience. Has anyone been through this?
