Don’t miss your appointments!

I am 26 so I don’t take the pap smear appointments to seriously, I had two girls one year apart when I was 19 and 20. I didn’t plan on having anymore kids but was a little young for a tubal ligation so I opted for an iud. Well 4.5 years later somehow I got pregnant with the iud in it just happens,so I went in to get a pap smear since I hadn’t had one in a like a year or maybe more I honestly cant remember and also to see if the iud was in place, they took it out and gave me an ultra sound and all that to see if the pregnancy would progress or miscarry.

I hadn’t hought twice about the pap smear except that it was really annoying and didn’t think it was really even that important. Then I got a call the pap was ab normal so I had a colpo done which showed I had a couple displaysia on my cervix that were mod-severe,The doctor told me about hpv and the staging on cancer vrs. precancer and told me in a few more visits I could have had 70-80 percent chance of having cancer.

So he figured maybe the surprise pregnancy was a blessing so that I could deal with this issue,Now I have a baby due in Jan. and a whole new respect for pap smears. So always go and be smart I was only with three people ever and the current one for 7 years and even then I have something that I have to deal with for the rest of my life.
