To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download My Battle With HPV and Cervical Dysplasia I was diagnosed after my 3rd child was born with HPV and Cervical Dysplasia. I was asked on the phone to sit down before the news was broke to me, which in fact scared me even more. I was told I am a carrier and that it can progress to cervical cancer if not treated early, that I would have to begin every 3 month pap smears. I was in shock, scared and cried more then I had in my life. I was in fear of the worst. I was offered two types of minor in/out patient treatments. One was discribed to me as “under local anasthesia, going into the opening of the cervix to shave off a nickle size portion of the opening of the cervix”, the other was a Cryo, where they in office, place a metal object in to the opening of the cerxix to build a somewhat snowcone on the cervix and then it would eventualy melt. I thought the second one sounded redicoulous, that it couldn’t possibly rid me of cervical cancer, so I opted for the surgery side. To be placed under anasthesia and the doctor to go in and shave the opening. After 3 treatments, it still had not went away, so I thought I would try the Cryo. The Cryo, was easier then a pap smear. It took 10 minutes at best. I have been cured of Dysplasia ever since. I have went back to normal 1 year pap smears. It seemed scarey, but in fact it was not that bad. You just need to be checked often, take it seriously and treat it! My best wishes to anyone suffering from this. Comments
