i had a beautiful baby girl almost 10 months ago. went in for my yearly in may and was told i had abnormal cells. wasn’t completely freaked out at that point. i went back in mid august and got the call this morning (after thinking it must be fine since i hadn’t heard from the doctor) now they have put a name on it - dysplasia. i am very upset at this point. after getting online and reading about it, i see that it can be from std’s which makes me feel dirty. i was not careful as a teenager and am worried that at 26 i am going to be paying for it. i say all this hoping someone will comment and give me advice on what they have learned about it.

  • My Battle With HPV and Cervical Dysplasia - by Gracie - (Thu, Sep 04 2008)
I was diagnosed after my 3rd child was born with HPV and Cervical Dysplasia. I was asked on the phone to sit down before the news was broke to me, which in fact scared me even more. I was told I am a carrier and that it can progress to cervical cancer if not treated early, that I would have to begin every 3 month pap smears. [more..]
