Normal Since 1987

In 1985 the results of my routine yearly exam returned abnormal. I had to have a colposcopy for what the doctor said was severe dysplasia. Based on the results, my doctor decided on lazer surgery to treat my condition. I had paps every 6 months for 2 years which were always normal. I haven’t had an abnormal pap since then. My 17 year old daughter now has severe dysplasia and we are waiting on results from her biopsy. We are trusting God for he is faithful.

  • Does it every really go away? - by Rebekah - (Wed, Oct 29 2008)
2 months before my wedding I received a call from my gyn, regarding by papsmear. It came back abnormal and i would need to go back for more test. They found that I had mild displaysis [dysplasia], and had a coloscopy. This was 3 years ago, I have since been fine until this month. I was informed that it has returned and would need to go through treatment again. I’m 26 years old and don’t understand why I’ve gone through this twice. This time around its been a lot harder for me. I’m angry that I have to go through this again. I’ll i can think about is that I’m to young to have these problems. I’m the type of person who always sees the bad before the good and can’t help but wonder how this will affect me going forward. Its comforting knowing that others have gone through this and are fine now. [more..]
