To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download The CALL I received a call one afternoon while painting my new home and was told I had an abnormal pap. I was shocked first of all that the doctor actually called me almost 6 weeks after the pap. I asked her what was wrong and she explained that I had HPV I was shocked, scared and very angry. HOW IN THE HELL DOES THIS HAPPEN? I have only been with my husband. We have been married for 8 years and you are just now finding out that I have this. I then questioned her on what does this mean, is he cheating? She said that it can take years to develop and that since we just had a baby that my hormones could have made it active. She stated that it does not mean that he cheated or that I cheated, it just meant that someone from the past had an impact on our current live. I was a virgin when we got married and was that way for a reason. I felt cheated but I cannot blame someone for their past only can judge on their present. I went and had the LEEP and Coloscopy done in April and just recently had it completed this month. I watched the Doctor tv show last week, and I guess I am not the only one in this situation. They had a lady on there who was diagnoised in her early 20’s and now is in her late 30’s and is doing well. She wrote a book called “Damaged Goods”. I sit and wonder how people would treat me if they knew that I had HPV Of course you would have those who do not know what it is, and then you will have the KNOW IT ALLS. I pray that people would not think less of me or think I am a liar because I say that I have only been with one person. I do not want this to be an STD because it make most people think your a dirty person. They do not know the facts that 70% of women have this disease and might not even know it. Comments
