When I went for my yearly check up the Dr. told me something was wrong. I went back for a 2nd pap and they told me I was a CIN III and needed to have yet another test. Didn’t tell me anything about it at all. So I jumped on the internet and i became quite terrified. I thought I was going to die. I went and had a colposcopy at that point. It came back one more stage worse. At this point I knew I was one stage from Cancer. They discussed options including a hysterectomy I was terrified. I went with the Cryo option. I had to return every 3 months for a year for a pap. Then twice a year, then normal. I made it 6 months and my results became abnormal again. There were several problems and they couldn’t pinpoint it exactly. For the next few years I went through many tests and medicines. They thought I had a tubal pregnancy, brain tumor, hormone issues, and on and on. After all the tests and meds, I gained weight and became very unhappy. My monthly cycle spun out of control and grew increasingly worse. 2 years ago i found a Dr. that finally was able to help me and listen to me. He started me on meds that have helped my monthly out to where I wasn’t in so much pain or other problems associated with it. That has been working fairly well. In January I returned for my normal visit. The Dr. Office called but I was busy at work and didn’t get a chance to return the call. Our insurance started a new online health record. I received an email indicating an update so I went to look at it. It had the results from my last check up stating that there was dysplasia and further testing was needed. Needless to say, I made the time to call the Dr. I made the appointment and went in for another Colposcopy. He explained how things have changed in the last 10 years. They don’t automatically do the test now and it might not be anything. He would do a visual and only then if he saw something would he take a sample. Needless to say he ended up taking a few samples. After sending them up I have been told I have mild Dysplasia. My choices are of course, regular treatment (leep, cryo, ya know), wait 6 months, or go for the big guns have the hysterectomy I have my children, youngest daughter is 14. So many problems and knowing how many more just basing it on last time. I am tired. I am tired of the pain, problems, bloating, back pain, nerve pain, heavy flow, all of it. I am going to discuss having a hysterectomy with my Dr. There is a history of cancer in my family. If this was the HPV virus, odds of this occuring after 10 years…. I think not. The research says you show symptoms up to after 6 months of being exposed. Hmmm, interesting thing….. I am in the same relationship for over 3 years, I know 100% he hasn’t cheated. Besides that, due to all the problems and some additional stress, haven’t had intercourse in so long I can’t remember……. So, that is my story. I am confused but tired of it all. I am also sad that I just don’t have all the answers…. Comments
