To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download sciatica w/disc compression I have had sciatica since Aug 2008 following an otj injury lifting a patient - I have been a home health nurse for the past 6yrs and 33yr career.I have a confirmed MRI for nerve impingment at S1-2 - radiating down the right leg to my foot causing numbness on the bottom of my foot. The pain in the back of my thigh, knees, and achilles tendon constantly burn and ache. The pain in my low back at times is tolerable w/ibuprofen - 600mgs, tid: increased fluids, and finally I have been told to walk, which I am now doing and it is helping. I have been placed on Ritalin, Norco,Flexeril and Lexapro for the depression I am only having 1 narcotic a day (Norco),Flexeril (prn) which I havent taken at all,Lexapro 30mgs daily and Ritalin 10 mgs tid. I am definitely improving as the Ritalin gives me the energy to get up in the am and start walking and working around the house, thus eliminating some of the pain I have experienced. I need surgery for a discectomy but don’t have insurance. I am eligible for Medicare 1 year from now, maybe then - but with my present medication profile, maybe I won’t have to have surgery. Can anyone comment about the Ritalin? Comments
