Regular paps were fine until then. Diagnosed with CIN 1 & CIN 2. Copascope and then a biopsy were inconclusive. More paps, more CIN2 (biopsy inconclusive again). Dr. pushed for cone biopsy, I foolishly agreed. He said this would be the cure. Lazer surgery removed 2 cm. of cervix, and my chances of carrying a child. Path report was inconclusive for CIN!! Why did this happen? We had NO risk factors, no hpv no std’s, happly married 14 years, no multy partners, no smoking. BUT I used the PILL for about 5 years after we were married in 1970. The paper in the pill pack said it could possibly cause cervical dysplasia but I didn’t know what that meant and I was healthy. I read a report last year, CD increased by 50% in the early 80’s, after higher use of birth control pills in the 70’s. Please be aware of the dangers. Nurses have told me they won’t use the pill or any other form of synthetic hormone. It’s too dangerous, use something else. The pill depletes folic acid (B6) needed for cervical health. I could have taken that plus lycopene, vitamin C&A , and a good multinutrient to heal myself, but I wasn’t told this, just rushed into a mistake. CD can take 10 years to become cancer, give yourself some time to become healthy before your next pap test. Surgery damages you forever. Susan Comments
