Partial Hysterectomy-Ovaries remained

I am 29 years old married 7 years and I had to have a hysterectomy due to endometriosis and severe fibroid tumors. I had a fibroid the size of a large canalope which completely ruined my uterus along with my history of endometriosis I had 5 other fibroids the size of golf balls. My doctor gave me a few options, but when he opened me up, my uterus was worse than he thought (xrays only show so much). He was glad that I made the decision that I did, because shrinking the fibroids would have set me up for failure to even carry a baby. I was definetly not ready to miscarriage over and over again. God guided me and gave me the strength to make the right decision.

My surgery went really well. I too was given pain meds with the press of a button for 2 days, then I was given pain pills as needed. I stayed in the hospital for about 4 days (I could not stand that hospital bed) I was told not to lift or do anything hardly at all for 2-3 weeks. This was because they had to cut me across my bikini line a little wider than they normally would for a partial due to the size of that one fibroid I mentioned. That fibroid alone was 7 pounds. When I came out of the hospital, I stayed with my parents for 2 weeks and they took care of me. I healed wonderfully, feel great and I do not miss aunt flo at all.
