As time when by it got even heavier with clotting and longer two weeks sometimes three weeks. About 5 years ago as I was seeking help with this problem I was told by one doctor that normally a situation such as mine they would do a hysterectomy I asked if that is what they were going to do he said no, at your age we don’t do them because you should be in or will be going through menopause soon. I tried to tolerate this until about 2 years ago when the bleeding got even heavier. My general doctor performed a d and c which gave me a short term relief. Eventually the cycles got so heavy I would have to wear two super tampons and a long super pad often having to change every hour or two for the first two days of my cycle. Last year I got to a point that I was extremely tired all the time and learned I was slight anemic. I even took some time off from work because I was so fatigue, all I would do was sleep. In July of 2008 I had a stroke which uncovered an aneurism that explained my fatigue. I put my heavy cycle on hold due to the stroke By the time I was able to address the issue I did not have any medical coverage so I tried to cope with it. Early June of this year my cycle got even worst clotting, extremely heavy bleeding, I had to wear two tampons and an extra absorbent pad changing every hour or less. Finally by the second week in July I went to a free clinic where they told me I was extremely anemic. My hemoglobin was 4.7 normal is 11.7 - 15.5, my hematocrit was 16.2 normal is 35 -45. I was referred to a gynecologist that determined I needed a hysterectomy Finally after about 10 years I am getting the relief I need. Comments
