Epilepsy

by: SACS on Tue, Jun 26 2007

I was about 6 or 7 when I was diagnosed. I had a Gran Mal seizure in class. It had been very rough, with at least a one seizure a month. Very often many more. I was very self concious of this. I always thought everyone knew, because some people who I knew about this thought I was odd. This was my cross. I finally accepted this about 16 years ago when I had my last seizure

Then 1 1/2 years ago I was diagnosed with Lupus I have to have many test to find out if that was the cause of my seizures I opted against it because I delt with the unknown for all my life. Knowing the reason why wouldn’t change anything. I will be 54. Others may want those tests but it didn’t matter to me. I still take medicine for seizures because of all the years of taking it there could be terrible effects on my body if I stop and it could affect my lupus which is pretty well controled with few problems. As I said other may feel differed, but thats how I feel. Life is pretty good.
