Lupus..almost impossible to diagnose

by: Sandi on Wed, Jan 30 2008

I was diagnosed with Lupus over 16 years ago. I was fortunate that I had a very mild case. That is I thought I was fortunate until I found out that other docotrs did not always believe me when I reported my Lupus I was suffering only mild symptoms. That was until about 3 years ago wqhen my ankles swelled up so bad I could not walk as did my legs. I was also completely exhausted and tired of being called lazy by everyone. I went to yet a new internist and he did some tests and put me on cortisone since my kidneys were very involved.

I have tried to go off the medicine several times but the ankles swell up immediately and as soon as I go back on it they go down. The fatigue is constant and I am now on disability as I also suffer from severe scoliosis of my spine and take strong medicines for the constant pain.

I need help with the fatigue. If I go food shopping I need to sleep for 2 dasy afterward. Does this sound normal?
