I was finally diagnosed with lupus This has been on going now for as many as 40 years total. With medication, I was able to get through many of these years and held a public job, while doing all my housework, and outside work, in addition to managing and taking care of a large farm. Suddenly, one day while taking a shower, i noticed my left leg and foot was going numb, and had tingling and pain. About two weeks later, again while in the shower, the other leg and foot became the same way. This was a dozen years ago now, but in the meantime, I have been unable to work, had to retire from everything and resign myself to sitting in a wheelchair, using two canes, or a walker to get about. I have gained an enormous amount of weight, ( due to no exercise, and medication) have impaired vision, hands and arms becoming the same as both feet and legs. Have had numerous surgeries and other treatments due to this problem, yet I find hope . My current age is 70 plus. all of this began while in my early teens, from having a certain virus which in turn bloomed into a full blown case of SLR. I Also have fibromyalgia and other complications. However, i keep trying. We must never give up hope, and always have a positive attitude and outlook. I am thankful daily for all those things i do not have ! Comments
