i was diagnosed w/ stage IV ovarian ca last feb 09, i had my 6 cycles of chemotherapy before i had both ovaries removed, then another 2 cycles this time w/ a different drug, the side effect was too much for me since it involves stomach pain soo severe i can hardly eat, i was confined in my bed all the time because of the pain & it lasted more than a week of non stop pain it left me weak. after that i had my ultra sound it revealed splenomegaly(grade 1)it made me think that the chemo did not work since it had enlarged my spleen. i weigh things over since for me the chemo did not work & the side effect is soo severe plus the fact that it’s financially draining, ive decided to stop & try other alternative treatment. i dunno where this will lead me but i hope it would lead me to recovery (just hoping). if anyone will read this id be happy to hear an advice from him/her. tnx for the space.

It is gratifying to see the media spreading the news about risk factors for ovarian cancer recently. In July of 2009, I went for my annual checkup with my internist and reported I was having a little pain in my abdomen but since I was unaware of symptoms of ovarian cancer at the time, I didn’t make a big deal of it and it was passed off.
