To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download living with pcos hi, my name is sairani presently 21yrs this 09th day of october 2008,and i’m from trinidad. at the tender age of 13 i got my first period. i was delighted to experience this as it made me feel like a woman. but after three months it stopped completely, my family and i were very distressed by this and visited many specialists. finally we were told the horrifying news which shattered our hearts. i have tried many medications, but none seemed to work. i lived curled up in my bedroom thinking i will never be able to fulfil my goal as a woman of bearing a child, since i never understood all pcos entails. finally in 2007 i visited an OBGYN in trinidad and he gave me the best gift ever. he put me on birth control pills which made me finally get my period after seven years without it. he put me on a low dosage at first, and that got me bleeding but couldn’t stop the bleeding as i bled for an entire month. soon after he raised my dosage and i have had a normal “so to speak” period ever since. it was very uncomfortable, but soon got used to it. it hurts me to hear other women wish they never had a period, they don’t know what it is like to live with this syndrome and not knowing if you will ever be a normal person again.
