To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Right Foot pain, redness, swelling Hi, I need to know what WORKS - so Please post successful therapy (meds, PT, etc) stories here. For four months I have had right foot pain, redness, and swelling. My doc thought it was neuroma Foot doc said it was RSD Pain doc prescribed PT and Lyrica. I just started the Lyrica and start PT next week. Please let me know if anyone has tried these and if they work and what else works. I am in my early 50’s, had no accident before the pain and swelling started, I thought it was just a result of getting older and hormones. When it did not go away, I began to worry. My leg and foot feel better when I sit with it propped up or lay down. I can’t stand for more than 15 minutes and I can hardly walk. I can’t drive for more than 20 minutes because my right leg gets cold and my foot gets red and swollen. I live in a small town and I can no longer drive to the big city because it is more than an hour away. I used to take brisk walks daily of at least a mile, now I can’t walk even a fifth of that distance. Very frustrating because I have trouble even cleaning the floors of my house and I am in the middle of a project to put wood on my bedroom floor. I have three rows of wood down and old linoleum for the rest of the floor. I can’t afford to hire someone and I enjoy doing this work myself, but my leg and foot have prevented me from completing this project. I work at a hospital as a clerk, it is a mental health center, and no one, including myself has heard of RSD before. Even the psychiatrist who works on my unit had never heard of it, and he was a med doctor before he was a psychiatrist and he is in his 50’s. None of the nurses that I have talked to have heard of it either. It is very frustrating and annoying. Please post more positive stories which will help all of us who are in need here. Comments
