Sex being number one. I was really restricted living at home in high school, so when i got to college it was like i was free…and i went crazy! After i lost my virginity and had sex for the first time, it all went down hill. I would sleep with everybody and something i was ‘known’ for around the dorm was giving oral sex. I thought i was cool and they liked me for it, but now i realize it was not worth it at all. I recently went in for my annual pap test and 4 days after i got a phone call from the doctor. I had Chlamydia Treatable…thank god. but still an STD For some reason i wasnt that concerned about it becuase it wasnt severe and was treated with a dose of 4 pills for one day. A few days after treatment for that, i got another call…this time my cells in my cervix came back abnormal so i had to go in for more test. I went in and had a biopsy and a colposcopy. A few days later those results came back and turns out i have dysplacia. The doc said it was mild and should go away on my own, although 70-90% of women with dysplacia who come into contact with HPV develop cervical cancer. I was horrified. My mother had cervical cancer at the age of 24, so i already knew i was at risk. But to have all this going on, testing and worrying..its definately not worth it. Im wishing now i didnt get so caught up in the ‘college life’ and was more cautious about my decisions…i never thought this would happen to me….and now i have an STD and Dysplacia. Im praying it doesnt turn into cervical cancer. im only 19 years old…im too young to be going thru this s***! So my advice to anybody else out there who is going thru the same thing i went thru, or going off to college, or even just out there sexually…..be careful…use protection…and GET TESTED!…it could save your life!
