To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download My Miracle Story I am a 46 yr. old female. In Feb. 2006 I was diagnosed with a rare form of acute leukemia. It was a mass wrapped around my small bowel. My first oncologist sent me to hospital to have a bowel resection. After surgery, I came home for a couple of days. Then ended up in the emergency room. I didn’t know what was going on…but I felt I was going to die. I was put on life support, because a fistula (a hole in the bowel). My body quickly filled with fluid, and collasped my lungs and caused kidney failure. I was on life support for a total of 11 days. When I was able to breathe on my own. I had to learn to walk again and regain all the strengh that we all take for granted. A few days later, I started chemo. I had three rounds of chemo I spent many days of 2006 in and out of the hospital with many other surgeries. The leukemia has never been in my bone marrow. The doctors wanted to do a bone marrow transplant, but decided against it. I will be having a scan to see it there is any other tumors anywhere else in my body. I want everybody to know that miracles do happen. My family and friends have prayed for a miracle and today I am doing great. I am praying my scan brings good news. There is hope!!! Just pray and be positive! Comments
