I was a month along and had no idea what to do or who to turn to. I waited 2 weeks before telling my mom, but in the meantime I told my sons dad. That was probably one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made. Right away I could tell he wanted me to have an abortion. I wanted one too. I called to set up an appointment, but half way through I started bawling. The next day I canceled it. Now I have the most beautiful little boy, and I couldn’t be prouder. I didn’t give up when I decided to keep him either. I still went out of state for college and played through my first trimester. I moved back at semester and took a couple online classes and worked 3 jobs. My sons dad didn’t even bother getting one. He never sees him and I am ok with that. We tried to work it out at first, but there was no point. We couldn’t force something that neither of us wanted. I am a much stronger person for doing it on my own and I actually prefer it that way. My life hasn’t ended. I am now going to college full time, playing soccer on scholarship, working 2 jobs, raising a baby, and still trying to have some sort of a social life. I’ve dated a couple of guys since having my son, but I never get serious anymore. I’m all about taking things slow. It may seem weird, but I think by having a child so young it kind of saved me. It made me a lot more responsible and a lot stronger of a person. It improved my relationship with my mom too. I honestly can’t imagine my life any other way! Comments
